I had some redness and swelling in my foot and proceeded to my local well care facility where I was given antibiotics. 10 days later there was no improvement so I returned to the well care facility. This time, upon examination, I was given different antibiotics and told to see a specialist, such as infectious disease or a podiatrist. After a through search on the internet looking for highly rated podiatrists, I found Dr. Kurt Relation. I called to make an appointment, explaining my situation, and was advised to come in that day. Upon initial examination, the doctor realized the severity of the infection and spent a lot of time examining my foot and cleaning the wound. He made it clear that if the infection spread, I would need to go to the hospital. The results of the exam was that I had a wound or ulcer on the bottom of my foot and a wound in top between two toes (initially missed at well care). I needed stronger antibiotics to counter the infection. Dr. Relation mentioned a relatively new product, NUZYRA, that he thought would work. Knowing that I needed the meds immediately, he went out of his way to contact the NUZYRA sales rep to have some samples dropped off that day! Within one day of taking the antibiotics there was improvement and it has continued through today. I'm not out of the woods yet, but certainly very grateful to have found Dr. Relation. You don't often get this lucky when looking for a doctor. If you are looking for a podiatrist who is caring, communicates well, listens and provides honest assessments, look no further!
